Quarter 3 Ending April 3, 2019
It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the end of quarter 3. Students will be receiving Progress Reports on Friday, April 5, 2019. These are just a snapshot in time and provide some information as to student’s progress. Incomplete grades let students and families know when assignments have not been completed and when students are in danger of not earning class credit. As a reminder, all students and families have access to Skyward, the online portal where grades are posted. Semester 1 Report Cards
All students received their semester 1 report cards. The Honors Breakfast was held on February 8th and 85 students were recognized for their academic achievement. Please be sure to sign the report card and return it to school. If you did not receive your student’s report card, please contact the main office as soon as possible and we will get a copy to you. Happy New Year! 2019 has started of strong with the RINI community diving and getting right back to work after a much needed break. Upper grades are concluding semester one soon, and looking forward to a fresh start for semester two classes. 9th grade students have really settled in and responded to the academic rigor that they have found at RINI. Mastery learning is sure to be demonstrated in the final and midterm exams. Please understand and support your students over the next few weeks as emotions are likely to be escalated. Dear RINI Community,
The Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) has released the new school accountability system that is required under federal law, ESSA. There are some very valuable metrics included in the report platform and there are some that RINI scored fairly well on. However, the rating system, as expressed by RIDE, was created for schools to be as good as their lowest rating to provide laser focus on areas to improve. We will analyze these metrics thoroughly to inform our strategic decisions that will help students achieve even greater outcomes. Continue reading “RINI Family Update”
