Data Analytic Course for Future Nurses

RINI 11th grade students are participating in a class called DATA NAVIGATORS, provided by the Providence Public Library. Students will learn how to collect, run statistical analysis, and evaluate data in relation to health-related situations and problems during this 10-week course. At the end of the course students will receive a certificate of achievement that will impress any college and health care employer.

Academic Awards and Honors

On September 19th, RINI held its first Honors Breakfast of the year to recognize students who made significant academic, attendance, and workforce achievement last year. Over 100 students were invited to this special breakfast and received awards! Congratulations to all!

Rhode 2 College

Several RINI juniors received an important letter from the Governor’s Office this week.

The invitation to join the Rhode 2 College program provides a great incentive to students to “complete college milestones”.

Students can earn up to $2000, some now and the rest will be deposited into an account that they can use for college upon graduation from RINI.

SAT and PSAT Preparation

RINI scholars in grades 10 and 11 will begin preparing for the PSAT and SAT assessments. These are RI mandated standardized tests that are also required by many colleges and universities for admission into their programs. RINI scholars and future nurses/healthcare providers must spend time reviewing Kahn Academy https://www.khanacademy.org/ and the free resources that are available to assist them in doing their very best on these tests.

FAFSA and College Applications

Ms. Keating has been meeting with seniors on both applications. FAFSA applications opened October 1st and ALL college-bound students will need to submit a FAFSA. Students will need parent tax returns as well as student tax returns from the year 2017. Additional information may also be needed. Students may fill out the FAFSA at home with parents/guardians or make an appointment and go with parents/guardians to the College Planning Center of RI. Students will be getting much more information about this in the upcoming weeks. Please contact Ms. Keating with any questions regarding the financial aid process.
