Dear Families and Students,
We are excited to welcome you and your family to our growing RINI Middle College school community! We pride ourselves on partnering with our community to ensure student academic success. The 9th grade faculty will be working throughout the summer in anticipation of your arrival in August. The RINI program will prepare you and is life changing for many students. The major requirement is that you attend school every day and allow yourself to learn, to grow, and to be challenged to be your best.
Below, please find information on summer expectations and activities:
Summer Surveys:
In an effort to support the safety of our students and community; we will be asking you to complete a cell phone usage survey so we can plan for the new year. Please complete this Family Survey by July 8, 2022.
Summer Orientation:
This year we will kick off our student and family orientation from August 2 to August 5. This week will consist of varied activities geared toward preparing students for the upcoming school year. All students will meet some of our 9th grade faculty, who are very excited to meet you.
Summer Testing:
During the week of orientation we will be conducting STAR testing for all incoming 9th grade students. This screening assessment will provide us with baseline proficiency in mathematics and reading. In an effort to support academic success; students who are three or more grade levels behind will be placed into an intervention lab.
Summer Opportunities and Beyond:
Are you interested in a continuous partnership with the RINI community throughout the school year? We are looking for family voice and support in order to inform our practices and create a school community that prioritizes student education and wellbeing. The first day of school is August 26, 2022. If your child has made different plans and is no longer intending to attend the RI Nurses Institute Middle College or to pursue a nursing or healthcare provider career track, please contact the school as soon as possible so that we can offer the seat to a student on the waiting list.

Verano: Encuestas de verano:
En un esfuerzo por apoyar la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y la comunidad; le pediremos que complete una encuesta sobre el uso del teléfono celular para que podamos planificar el nuevo año. Por favor complete esta Encuesta Familiar antes del 8 de julio de 2022.
Orientación de verano:
Este año iniciaremos nuestra orientación para estudiantes y familias del 2 al 5 de agosto. Esta semana consistirá en actividades variadas orientadas a preparar a los estudiantes para el próximo año escolar. Todos los estudiantes conocerán a algunos de nuestros profesores de noveno grado, quienes están emocionados de conocerlos.
Exámenes de verano:
Durante la semana de orientación, realizaremos exámenes STAR para todos los estudiantes que ingresan al noveno grado. Esta evaluación de detección nos proporcionará información básica en matemáticas y lectura para el estudiante. Los estudiantes que están tres o más niveles de grado atrasados serán colocados en un laboratorio de intervención. Esto significa que obtendrán ayuda adicional si es necesario para llegar a donde se supone que deben estar académicamente.
